Goucher College (/ˈɡaʊtʃər/ (listen) GOW-chər) is a private liberal arts college in Towson, Maryland. It was chartered in 1885 by a conference in Baltimore led by namesake John F. Goucher and local leaders of the Methodist Episcopal Church.[5] Goucher was a women's college until becoming coeducational in 1986.[6] As of 2020[update], Goucher had 1,480 undergraduates studying 33 majors and six interdisciplinary fields and 700 graduate students. Goucher also grants professional certificates in writing and education and offers a postbaccalaureate premedical program.[7][8]
